1
What is coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative process with an ADHD person, or those impacted by ADHD. Coaches have specialized skill sets for working with people with ADHD to learn skills and problem-solving tools that can manage their attention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and executive functioning issues.
2
What are the professional values of coaching?
The underlying principle of coaching is that people are creative, resourceful, fully capable, and whole. They're not broken, they just function differently.
3
Why coaching and not therapy?
Coaching is not therapy. Therapy is for those people who meet the medical necessity for needing treatment. Coaching can be an add-on to therapy but is most often a stand-alone service. Coaching and therapy need to be done by two different people with different focuses, training, and outcome expectations. Some coaches were therapists who changed to coaching (that's me!) and some coaches go on to get training to become therapists. Regardless, everyone wants a more successful life for ADHD individuals.
4
How would we work together?
I only work by video, usually Zoom, or phone. The advantage to that is I can have clients anywhere in the world!
5
What would be my time commitment?
I do not provide individual sessions because I believe that being able to make changes that stick is more than a one-time deal.
6
Is coaching covered by health insurance?
Coaching is not covered by insurance in the United States. There are some other means of payment depending on your situation, but expect to pay for coaching out of pocket.
